In an industry where rapid time to market for technologically advanced sustainable mobility solutions is a competitive differentiator, the partnership between Dassault Systèmes and BMW Group is testament to the critical role of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in enabling companies to deliver products faster. The platform’s twin virtual experiences streamline collaboration across the enterprise and deliver data-driven approaches to managing the exponential complexity automakers face in engineering connected and autonomous vehicles.

“We will only optimize our engineering process if we think digitally, work connected and rely on integrated data. For the BMW Group, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will support this approach and help achieve a higher level of quality in our processes,” said Julien Hohenstein, Vice President Processes, Digitalization, Idea to Offer Government at BMW Group Research and Development.

With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform at the core of the BMW Group’s future product development environment, all BMW Group engineering disciplines will work on a virtual twin of a vehicle that can be configured for each model variant with integrated real-time data. . Teams can more easily reuse components, master the complexity of automotive variability, and improve engineering-to-manufacturing cycle time. Additionally, the BMW Group can seamlessly migrate data from its existing IT solutions and extend its engineering platform to other disciplines such as modeling and simulation.

The strategic partnership between Dassault Systèmes and BMW Group marks the next phase in their long-term collaboration. For decades, the two companies have shared their knowledge and know-how to advance technological innovation in areas including production planning and scheduling, part design and production efficiency.

“BMW Group and Dassault Systèmes are technology-driven companies that are entering a new era of shared innovation to deliver world-class products,” said Laurence Montanari, Vice President of Transportation and Mobility Industry at Dassault Systèmes.

“With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the BMW Group can rethink its engineering development process to deliver the most personalized and sustainable experiences to its customers .”
